It was cheaper to buy this than spend $90 at my local Apple dealer to replace the battery. I take this iPod from the car (where I have a car charger if need be) and work, so I put the speaker on my desk to both charge and play the iPod during my workday. 

It's awesome. Plays great - excellent sound in an office environment where you can't turn the volume too loud, but it WILL crank if you turn it up. Really, I had to turn the iPod WAY down so that it wouldn't blast the entire office. It also charges up the iPod long enough to get me through my commute and back the next day, which says a lot, based on the fact that the battery is basically dead at this point.”
